Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to obtain permission from the Local Authority before demolition can take place?
Yes, permission to demolish needs to be submitted to the Local Authorities which is the Section 80 Notice. There is often a charge and can take anything upto 6-8 weeks so we recommend submitting at the earliest convenience. Demolition cannot commence until the Section 81 Notice is received. We can ensure this requirement is met and our demolition price often includes this option for you at no additional cost.
Do you include for service isolations/disconnections or decommissioning?
We will always liaise with Statutory Authorities on receipt of an Order from yourselves as part of our demolition service but not the actual costs from the Statutory Authorities. All our quotations are unique for each project, which include what our price consists of and it will itemise the exclusions.
Do you have a set rate for different demolition activities?
Unfortunately demolition contractors can’t provide set rates due to different project locations, environment, external factors etc so each project has to be priced accordingly. We can provide you budget costs so please feel free to get in touch.
Do you remove asbestos?
Yes we often include this in our demolition quotation. We have a team of highly skilled operatives that remove non-licensed asbestos in line with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. We maintain an approved register for licensed asbestos contractors to remove licensed asbestos on our projects.
Do you include an asbestos survey in your demolition price?
We can obtain prices for you and recommend a reliable surveyor, we will also organise this for you free of charge but not the actual costs of the Refurbishment/Demolition Asbestos Survey.
