Environmental
The Environmental Policy of Reddish Demolition Ltd is to promote the highest standards of Environmental Management in the performance of all our demolition activities. We recognise environmental issues as an integral part of our business performance and are committed to achieving continual and effective improvements whilst complying with legal and other requirements to which we subscribe, these being the minimum standard acceptable to the company. To achieve this, we maintain a proactive environmental management system which enables us to ensure a high standard of work and performance at all times. We are registered waste carriers and hold a fully licensed transfer station license issued by the Environment Agency. We maintain our approved waste register which includes local licensed sites and registered carriers for all sites across the UK. Whether we are carrying out demolition in Manchester or demolition in London we have approved reliable suppliers. All licenses are reviewed at regular intervals as part of our management system.
At Reddish demolition we aim to recycle as much as possible, we have a strong ethos of environmental responsibility as we have two members of our management team who are holders of a WAMITAB qualifications and COTC holders, both are enthusiastic about recycling and reducing our carbon footprint. Last year our company recycling rate was 98%. We achieved this by minimising the production of waste, re-using surplus waste materials whenever possible, promoting the use of recycled materials, utilising waste management companies that can offer high recycling rates, disposing of residual waste in the most sustainable manner and always ensuring duty of care requirements are met and upheld.
We recognise the importance of the planning phase for meeting our annual waste targets. We prepare a site waste management plan for all our projects which gets reviewed on a regular basis throughout the project. All environmental aspects are identified and addressed at planning stage to prevent the impact of our activities and works are monitored throughout the project to ensure no non-conformances arise.
Regular toolbox talks and team briefs are carried out to ensure all site personnel are aware of their responsibilities with regards to the environment and regular training is provided for all site personnel. Our SHEQ Management System in place ensures we meet the requirements of ISO 14001.
